It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my CV for the position of Monitoring & Evaluation Officer at the National Recovery Program Bureau. I am convinced that my academic, professional, and personal background has equipped me with the adequate experience to be best suited to serve in this capacity.
As the current “In Country Support Officer” at Cuso International, my involvement and exposure working on the “BLUEPRINTS: Project for Gender Equality” has reinforced, and brought into sharp focus, the importance of tackling poverty and equality so that all people can thrive. This current experience is adequately enabling me to function effectively in roles that require the same or similar emphasis required to address the needs of other uniquely vulnerable individuals across varying sectors of importance.
My position as Communications, Monitoring, & Evaluation (CME) Specialist on the Housing Recovery Project, under the management of the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica funded by the World Bank, has provided me with the relevant and applicable experience in recognizing the importance of undergoing the various tasks for an effective Monitoring & Evaluation System within a complex environment. As CME, I have contributed to the development of an effective system specifically for disaster affected households, by defining standard operating guidelines for M&E, to particularly capture the needs of the most vulnerable, and to consequently fulfill the objectives of the overall project, while adhering to the “Build Back Better” principle.
As the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, & Learning Specialist with Caritas Antilles, my contributions in MEAL has led to the successful construction of 80 Core Resilient Shelters and the distribution of 80 Roof Repair Kits on the island of Dominica, in a post Hurricane Maria atmosphere. I have been able to acquire a broad array of lessons learned, through identification, documentation, shared knowledge and experience throughout the project, by utilizing key systems and tools such as the KOBO Tool Box Platform.
With the experience of working effectively with international organizations, I have developed the ability to interact with the complexity of high-level management, while bolstering my ability to liaise effectively at the grass roots level. I am a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to analyze ideas and use logic to determine strength and weaknesses.
While I recognize the value that I may be able to add, I am also eager to learn, as I am certain that this position like many others, will come with its new set of challenges to overcome, and will require effective team work, leadership, and the ability to adjust instrumental values in order to ensure its success. I am willing to adapt to this dynamic and everchanging environment, and can promise dedicated optimism, and a positive outlook towards achieving the fundamental mission goals at the National Recovery Program Bureau.
I hope that you are able to see value in my experience and intended contribution, and I eagerly anticipate serving, and working toward “building back a more resilient Sint Maarten.”
